How to carry your child on your hip
Suitable for children approximately 5 months and older

1.
Lift the child onto your shoulder (hold securely!) and pull the child’s feet inside the shawl.
If you feel more secure putting the child in the shawl from underneath, this method works perfectly too.
2.
Let the child slip down to sit on your hip, as if you carry your child without a shawl. Make sure that the child has fabric covering the body from the back of both knees so that there is a real sitting area.
Then pull the fabric over the child’s back so that it sits comfortably and securely.
3.
Adjust the fabric by pulling or releasing the tail through the rings where needed. The shawl should fit tightly and be comfortable for both of you.

If the child has fallen asleep in your arms you can continue to hold the child and simultaneously put the pre-tied shawl on and place the child in it without waking it up. The child will sleep safe and sound in the shawl. If the child has fallen asleep in the shawl you can take out the child’s legs so that the child is in a prone position.
